Auction

What is the Auction about?

  • This year we have an amazing opportunity to be featured with Waddingtons Auctions out of Toronto, giving us nationwide exposure..

Check them out:  https://www.waddingtons.ca/auctions/

How does the Auction work?

  • There will be a Preview Exhibition at the Pendulum Gallery for the auction that will run May 15 - June 16

  • We are partnering with Beedie Luminaries Foundation as our fundraising partner.

  • 50% of the final sale price at auction will go to the foundation and 50% will go to the artists.

  • We/you are not being charged any fees by the Auction house.

  • There will be an estimated value and minimum bid for auction pieces.

  • Artists or PAS will set these two values.

  • It is standard to start the bidding between  one third to one half of the estimated value. Artists should maintain a standard pricing that is consistent for their work.

How do I submit for the Auction?

All the submission details for this will be posted shortly

Why are you recommending a maximum size?

  • Auctions with medium to small pieces are more accessible and easier to sell.

  • People are more willing to bid on items that are not too large (especially if they are only seeing them online)

  • We have limited space  and we want to make sure we accommodate as many pieces as possible in the live exhibit.

What charity are we partnering with in 2023?

  • The Beedie Luminaries Foundation

Why are we raising funds for a charity?

PAS has partnered with a number of charitable organisations over the years. Raising funds for organisations is community building and gives us the opportunity to raise our profile. Here we will have the opportunity to work with Waddingtons on a charitable status, (offsetting auction fees)

This year half the proceeds from the auction will be going to the Beedie Luminaries Foundation. For more info about Beedie Luminaries click the link below:

Why join PAS 2023?

  • It’s a great way to be a part of our community

  • We’re raising funds and awareness for The Beedie Luminaries Foundation

  • It’s FUN and it builds friendships

  • It’s easy - Most of  the promo work has been done for you.

  • In 7 years we’ve grown and learned what works and what doesn’t. We’ve taken notes from our surveys and have a budget to hire professionals for key logistical positions.

  • Our Mailing list and Social Media following continues to grow (we more than doubled our followers in 3 months prior to our event last year)

  • We have expectations too and that means everyone works together, even to  promote the show - we can’t do it without you.

Do I need to promote the show?

  • Yes, please. We ask everyone to help. Please get the word out by sending invitations to your mailing list. We will provide a PAS evite for you to send out.

How can I get more involved with PAS?

  • If you think you have skills we may need and would like to volunteer, email Niina at niinachebry@gmail.com. Put PAS VOLUNTEER in the subject line. Include a short description of the areas you would like to volunteer in.

This page will be updated regularly as the information becomes available.
