Seeking healing through Biophilia, I walk, take photos & sustainably forage for art supplies. My canvases are locally sourced recycled/repurposed materials. My pigments are created from Botanicals found in my environment. I am inspired by intimate encounters with plants & animals, and identify with their fragility, resilience and power. My art brings awareness of the disappearing access to our natural environment. My work transforms the very chemical essence of our world into art that capture humanity’s longing to connect with the healing power of Nature.

Rose L. Williams is a mixed media artist of Caribbean heritage exploring Nature’s chemistry based in Vancouver BC. An early career in photography grounds her mixed media Nature themed paintings, prints and textiles:
Rose earned her diploma in Painting/ Printmaking at the University of Fraser Valley and is a founding member of the International Art Alliance. She is an alumna of Langara College Expressive Arts Therapy and Emily Carr University of Art as well as a member of Kickstart Disability Arts Society & The Trinidad & Tobago Arts Society.
The concept of Biophiia popularized by Dr. David Suzuki and sustainability initiatives by Dr. Jane Goodall continue to fuel and inspire Williams creative endeavours.
The convergences between healing and creativity; habitat conservation and botanical remedies; history, legacy and the transformation of trauma contextualize Williams’ projects.
Her work has been included in numerous exhibitions including the 2010 Winter Olympics Cultural Olympiad.
